NaNoWriMo is unlike almost any other writing experience you can have. It’s a seats-of-the-pants (those who prefer this style every day of the year are affectionately called Pantsers) write-like-you’re-compulsive project that happens every November. The goal? Write 50k words in a month. That’s 1667 words a day. And the people who take a run at this are some of my favourite kind of crazy. There are meters and badges, forums and support groups. And a whole lot of internal editors locked in closets.
